I'm patiently waiting for my editor to return my manuscript to me complete with all her notes...it's equal parts exciting and terrifying! I should have it back this week, then I'll start working on updates. With any luck, that won't take too long...I'm still hoping to have Pies, Lies, and Alibis out in the first half of November...fingers crossed I can make that happen!
What did you think of Welcome to Mill Street?
I hope you remembered to download your free copy of Welcome to Mill Street. (If not, let me know and I can send you the link!) Did you read it yet? No pressure - I know sometimes you have to be in the mood. If you did read it, did you like meeting Kendall and Tess?
I had a little bit of fun dreaming up what the bakery and bookstore would look like...what do you think?
Would you want to spend an afternoon in Pack Up the Books, searching for your next read before wandering over to City of Pies for a scone or muffin? Tess would probably have to kick me out of the bookstore!
What's Next?
September 1st I'll be posting the cover for Pies, Lies, and Alibis across all my social media accounts...if you happen to see it in the wild, it would fantastic if you could give the post a boost by resharing it, reposting it, or "Love" reacting to it on Facebook!
But I'm not great at keeping secrets from my favorite people, so you get early access! I didn't want to bog down your email with another newsletter so soon (I did say it would be monthly, after all!) so I'm going to include it here!
I am very excited to share this with you! I was fortunate to have the fabulous Melody Simmons design the cover; her portfolio is amazing and I'm so happy she was able to work her magic for my book!
OK....are you ready?
Are you sure....?
Without further ado....
Ta-daa! The cover reveal for my debut cozy mystery! Pies, Lies, and Alibis: A Millwood Mystery by Kim Beatty
I make weird squeaky noises every time I look at it! I love it so much, and I cannot WAIT to get this book into the world! I hope readers love it as much as I loved writing it.
Right - I think that's enough excitement for one day. Until next time...Happy reading, friends!
Kim Beatty loves crafting cozy stories of small town life, relatable characters, light romance, and a pinch of mystery for good measure. She lives in the Midwest with her husband, classic cars, and a quirky sense of humor. When Kim isn't writing, she can likely be found at concerts, reading way past her bedtime, or wandering the streets of Chicago which feels like a second home.
