Up next, we a Holiday Romance Christmas in July e-book promotion! These are not limited to cozy mysteries, but the central focus is some kind of romance. NOTE - this does not officially kick off until July 8th, so be sure to keep an eye to Instagram and Facebook for a reminder to check out these swoon-worthy books! (And an additional note - while I know these don't fall in the super-spicy side of romance, I can't guarantee there won't be some spice...so review the books carefully to determine if they meet your reading needs.)

Cars, Cons, and Macarons (Book 2) Updates
I'm happy to say I've increased my word count to a little over 25K, which has been no easy feat with this book.
I think I'm struggling because I'm having to balance marketing & promotion with writing. I know there's a happy medium somewhere, I just need to find it! :)
On a personal note...
Not as many adventures as last newsletter to report but we've had a few fun things here and there!
Over Father's Day weekend we went to Greenfield Village, in Dearborn, Michigan. Even though we live 3 hours from the museum & village, we do have a membership. Since it was a hot day, we took a lap around the village on one of their steam trains.
In the background you might have noticed a lot of cars parked in the grass...every Father's Day weekend they have what's called the Motor Muster, their big car show event. It's huge, and takes place inside the Village itself. So many wonderful cars to look at, and some really interesting ones, too! I was too busy eating ice cream to get any pictures...sorry!
What I'm Reading...
As if it wasn't enough to have just finished a book on Ebola, I just picked up John Green's book, Everything Is Tuberculosis...same region of the world, same medically under-served population of people, but I can say with full confidence: this book is NOT 850+ pages, and there is levity and witty commentary from John scattered throughout, breaking up the history lessons. Much easier to digest!
"But Kim," I hear you say, "don't you ever read anything fun or lighthearted?" And to that I say, yes I do! I also finished the last book in fellow cozy mystery author Marcy Blesy's Tucson Retirement Community series, Dying For A Happy Ending. It's bittersweet to say goodbye to this cast of characters, but I'm looking forward to her spinoff/prequel series featuring one of the zanier characters in the book.
What are you currently reading, friends?
That's all for now!
As always, I thank you for your support and encouragement!

Kim Beatty loves crafting cozy stories of small town life, relatable characters, light romance, and a pinch of mystery for good measure. She lives in the Midwest with her husband, classic cars, and a quirky sense of humor. When Kim isn't writing, she can likely be found at concerts, reading way past her bedtime, or wandering the streets of Chicago which feels like a second home.
