Hi Reader!
I hope you've been doing well!
What's new?
You'll have to be patient with me as I figure out this newsletter system...I figured it'd be easier than writing the book, but I am being proven wrong. You may see some changes in how things look depending on if I change services...we'll see how quickly I throw in the towel on this one. :)
I have been working on the revisions to Pies, Lies, and Alibis; it took me about a week after I got my manuscript back from the editor to nurse my ego a bit. I wasn't expecting it to be a masterpiece, but this was a different level of being humbled.
It wasn't all bad, and it did offer me some things to improve, so I'm thankful for that. Anyway, I'm about ten chapters in, and things are coming together nicely.
Taking a break from writing
Something I wanted to include in the book is a map of Millwood, the town where Pies, Lies, and Alibis takes place. Since I'm self-publishing, I have a very limited budget for fun things like character art, illustrated maps, etc.
So, what's a broke author supposed to do? Waste about 5 hours in Canva making her own map. :) Is it a little wonky? Yes. Do I love it? YES!
What's Next?
The response to the cover reveal was AMAZING! I cannot wait to get this book into your hands, and I hope the wait is worth it!
Monday I get back to work on the book, fueled by lots of coffee, peanuts, and candy corn.
